Dahlia Tag

Happy FriYay! I'm sharing a happy little tag I created using Simon Says Stamp products for both the SSS Monday Challenge AND the SSS Wednesday Challenge.

The Wednesday Challenge also included this adorable color swatch. Can't go wrong with shades of teal and pink! I used a lot of Simon exclusive products; I tried to use a mix of product types, too.

You can see the Simon products are "Card Exchanging Friends" stamp set, "Falling Hearts" stencils, and both the "Delicate Dahlia" and "Outline Dahlia" dies.

I created the base of the tag by watercoloring with Gelatos in pink and mint colors. Second, I added a few floral rub ons from Tim Holtz, then I scraped Whipped Spackle over the Falling Hearts stencil. That was really all the background needed.

The time consuming portion of the tag was definitely the Dahlias. I first die cut the Outline Dahlia on watercolor paper and painted them with Peerless Watercolors. Then I cut the Delicate Dahlia die from patterned paper. Once they were arranged/glued on my tag I added Icicle Stickles to each individual petal. The shimmer was 100% worth the time!

The sentiment was stamped on watercolor paper and fussy cut. The two banners were added to the tag using foam adhesive.

Have a fabulous Friyay! I'm about to watch my hubby's championship soccer game, yippee!
