You're a Reel Star - Slider Card

Welcome back everyone! Today I'm over at the Topflight Stamps blog sharing a fun slider card using stamps from Time for Tea Designs.

This "Movie Night" stamp set is so so cute. I stamped and colored every single image because I couldn't pick a favorite. The images were all colored with Copics then fussy cut with my detail scissors.

Next it's time to start creating my slider card pieces using the Lawn Fawn Double Slider Surprise die. I die cut each piece from white cardstock, and then cut some pink paper from the Missees paper pad to create movie theater carpet. I also ink blended the pink paper with Prism Ink "Pink Jellybean".

Now it's time to design the movie theater ceiling. I inked the card panels with Prism Ink Thundercloud, then inked again with French Navy over the Lotza Stars stencil by AALL & Create.

Finally, it was just a matter of gluing the images down and putting the slider mechanism together. I love how this fun scene of all the animal friends came together!

The little raccoon with his 3D glasses is my favorite :)

Thanks for joining me! Have a great week ahead!

Happy Father's Day card

I hope those who celebrate had a very Happy Father's Day weekend! The card I'm sharing today is the card I sent to my dad for the day. I think it suits him pretty well :) The Topflight Stamps team is featuring AALL + Create all week long; you definitely don't want to miss the inspiration!

The AALL + Create Polaroid Pops challenge has been over for quite some time, but I really like the format for these stamp sets so I went with it. This card uses AALL + Create "Cookout" stamp set. The images are colored with Copic markers and fussy cut. The background is inked with Prism Ink Periwinkle and the Paper Artsy stencil PS 271. The fun pattern paper is from Studio Light Missees Collection.

My dad is definitely the grill-master of the family, grey haired n' all! I hope he enjoys the card <3

Stay Crafty with Hero Arts GUEST ARTIST - By the Sea

I am so so so soooo excited for today! I am thrilled to say that I am the guest artist for this month's Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero challenge! It's the perfect challenge theme for the summer - By the Sea.

If you're visit for the first time, I encourage you to follow my account on Instagram where I share a lot more than what's found here on the site. See you there :) @rwkrafts

I was inspired by the gorgeous stamp "Underwater Pattern" and also wanted to incorporate watercolor to further follow the water theme. Here are my mini slimline cards...

I just love how they turned out, and will certainly be making more of these. I started by heat embossing the image with Hero Arts Brass powder on mixed media paper. I then loosely watercolored the entire image with Distress Inks. Once the paper was dry I went back in to add watercolor to the details in a darker shade.

For the happy birthday card I used Distress Inks in the colors Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves, and Cracked Pistachio. To make the bold sentiment I used the Hero Arts set "Happy Thanks Stamp and Cut". I used Brass embossing powder over the whole die cut (happy) then layered it against the die cut from black cardstock. I did the same for the 'thanks' die on the card below.

For the Thanks a Million card I used Distress Inks in the colors Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, and Kitsch Flamingo.

Thank you so much for joining me! I hope you join in the Stay Crafty with Hero challenge this month. I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

Geometric Thank You Card

Happy Monday, crafters! I'm excited to share my card today, which you can find here and at the Topflight Stamps blog. This was my first time using the gorgeous Versafine Clair pigment inks, and I'm wondering why I waited so long?! These inks are so rich in color and I got full coverage after just one impression.

First, I stamped this cool geometric image from AALL & Create called "Clipped Botanicals". I stamped the image three times; once with Versafine Onyx Black ink, once with Versafine Clair Cheerful ink, and once in Versafine Clair Chianti ink.

Then I colored all of the flower images from the Chianti inked image. I used my Polychromos pencils and fussy cut the flowers with my detail scissors.

I also fussy cut some of the Cheerful inked hexagons. I adhered all of the cut pieces to the Versafine Onyx Black inked panel.

Thanks for joining me today. Have a creative week!
