Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate! Today I'm sharing a very springy card today using some of the Spring 2024 products from Hero Arts. It's mostly diecutting and coloring today - the only stamp is the sentiment!

To get this card started, I diecut the Floral Wreath Fancy Die from Dove White cardstock. I colored the diecut with a variety of Copic Markers. I also diecut and colored the butterflies from Butterfly Foliage Fancy Die (this set also comes with a grass die that you -need-).

I then diecut the Floral Wreath from Sand Cardstock and I inlayed the colored die into place. The sentiment is from the Spring Bunny Bundle, which was stamped with Sand Ink. I diecut the sentiment with my Compact Cutter.

The card is finished with a bit of pink enamel dots for some subtle accents. Simple and quick spring time card!

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy Easter.

Antique Bee New Letterpress and Foil Plates

Did you know Hero Arts just released some brand new plates? They work with your hot foil machine AND your new letterpress machine! Today I'm sharing two cards created using two new plates - Antique Bee Letterpress + Foil Plate and Thank You Flowers Letterpress + Foil Plate.

Aren't they beautiful?! Every foil transfer was so clean on the Hero Arts cardstock. I used my Glimmer Hot Foil Machine with these plates.

This card uses Nautical Cardstock with a mixture of darker gold and silver foil. I foiled the bee separately, fussy cut him, and popped him in the center with foam adhesive.

The second card uses Hero Arts Deluxe White Smooth Cardstock. The foil transfer is so perfect on this paper!

I also layered the panel on some Kiwi cardstock to help it pop.

Thanks for stopping by! You can brose all of Hero Arts foil and letter press plates here.

Since we’re celebrating a birthday today, I have a fun birthday themes card to share using several stamps from the Topflight Stamps store. Here’s how it all came together!...

I cut a piece of white Hammermill cardstock to 4” x 5.25” and ink blended the entire panel with Distress Ink in Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio. Then randomly stamped some images with grey ink from AALL and Create "Define Party" stamp set to create some interest in the background.

Next I used this very fun Polkadoodles Celebration stencil all over the panel that I spread Glitter Paste over.

The super sweet giraffe from Carabelle Studio "Party Giraffe" was then stamped on watercolor paper. I watercolored him with a variety of Distress Inks, but mostly Fossilized Amber and Walnut Stain. Once it was dry, I fussy-cut the image.

Then I stamped the cupcakes from AALL and Create "Cupcakes" also on watercolor paper. I watercolored the image with Distress Ink Fossilized Amber, Mustard Seed, and Picked Raspberry. I also fussy-cut the two cupcakes.

Now it’s just time to put it together! I tucked the giraffe into the cupcakes and also popped some of the front images up with foam tape.

Thank you for hopping along with us! I hope you enjoy all the inspiration!

Video - Testing out inked embossing techniques

Hello everyone! I have a video today that tests out some different ways to use embossing folders. That's right - embossing folders are back, baby! Click here to watch it all on YouTube!

In my video I share 3 different types of texture embossing. The floral one in the center is an old Sizzix plate from many years ago. You can find amazing options from Altenew here! The grid pattern is from Spellbinders Tile Mosaic 3D folder. The option on the right is actually a Hero Arts die called Flower Pattern Cover Plate. I ran it through my die machine with an embossing mat so it wouldn't cut through.

I used the same inks on each of these examples. The blended inks are all Hero Arts Reactive Inks in Lemon Drop, Creamsicle, Taffy, and Pool Party. The ink on top is Hero Arts Nautical

I enjoyed the backgrounds so much that I didn't want to cover it up with giant sentiments. I used some hot foiled sentiments from my stash, popped them up with foam tape, and tada! The sentiments are from Spellbinders Mini Everyday Sentiments and Yana's Special Sentiments. I used my Glimmer Hot Foil System for all of the foiling.

Thank you for watching the video! I hope you try it out yourself and share the outcome!

Smile!

Thinking of you makes me SMILE!

This was a very fun card to put together! Sometimes you just gotta play with your stamp stash. I started by stamping the Flowers and Swirls Bold Print on watercolor paper to heat emboss it in White. I then watercolored the background with Key Lime Fizz and Blue Raspberry Reactive Inks.

Now it's time to experiment! My latest obsesssion, if somehow you haven't noticed, is this Glitter Paste. It reminds me of my long-lost glitter paste love from Design Memory Craft (remember them?!). I decided to experiment by overlaying the Marbling Stencil over the watercolored piece, and spread glitter paste over. Yup - as expected - I love it!

I layered the dry embossed panel on Paradise and Kiwi Cardstocks, which were all die cut with Rounded Rectangle Infinity Dies in varying sizes. The stamped sentiment and "smile" die cut are from the Smile Friend Stamp and Cut XL set.

If you want to see the glitter paste in motion, check out this instagram post.

March My Monthly Hero Kit RELEASE DAY!

The day has arrived! The March Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit is truly a work of art. Be sure to visit all the blogs for amazing inspiration, and leave a comment for a chance to win a $50 Hero Arts gift card! You have until March 10th at 11:59pm PST to leave your comments for a chance to win.

Today's kit card features the Classic Kit for March. I really wanted to use the brightest inks I could to make a neon looking card with these tranquil peaceful images. This beautiful layered stamp uses the following inks: Paradise and Bermuda for the water, Kiwi and Fresh Lawn for the mountains, Ultra Pink for the sun, and Nautical for the silhouette images. I paired this with an Ultra Pink Cardstock base to make the pink pop!

You definitely don't want to miss out on this stunning kit. You can buy it todaaayyy woohoo!

There are also several gorgeous new releases. I was instantly drawn to the Crane Wishes stamp and die set. I used it in a different way to color the image so it looked like a Great Blue Heron (these birds are very near and dear to my heart!)...

All of the images were stamped with Intense Black Ink on Deluxe Smooth Cardstock. I colored the images with my Polychromos Pencils. To create the background, I stamped the Origami Paper Bold Print in Granite and Dusty Blue inks. I then die cut the Cherry Blossom Cover Plate and glued all the pieces together for the finished scene.

Enjoy the rest of the blog hop!

My Monthly Hero March Kit Countdown!

The March My Monthly Hero Kit by Hero Arts is going to blow you away! The images are so stunning, and make sure you check out the incredible add-ons on release day... there is some serious inspiration coming your way by the rest of the team.

I'm using the March Premium kit for my card today. The premium kit has a beautiful cherry blossom themed stamp and die set, along with the fun pink embellishments you see on my card.

First I stamped the background (Dove White Cardstock) with a single cherry blossom image using Peony ink. I then die cut that panel with the Scallop Infinity Die

The cherry blossom stamps were heat embossed in Gold onto watercolor cardstock. I then used the Waterflow Brush to watercolor the images with Taffy, Fruit Punch, and Key Lime Fizz Reactive Inks. The centerpiece of my card features 4 different cherry blossom stamps that I glued together for a longer branch. All images were cut in the Compact Cutter once they were dried.

I glued the panel onto Kiwi Cardstock, added the sentiment which is stamped in Kiwi Ink, and topped it all off with those cute enamel embellishments in the premium kit.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to come back on Monday for the big kit release countdown and endless inspiration!
