Reason to Smile

I was over at the Topflight Stamps blog sharing this colorful mixed media card that's perfect for any occasion. I'll walk you through the steps...

I've gotten a lot of use out of the AALL & Create "Filaments and Feathers" stamp set! This time I used the beautiful lightbulb stamp for this card. Here's how I created it:

First I put some Zesty Zing paint on my craft mat and sprayed it with water. I then sprayed my mixed media paper with water and dipped it on the pool of paint...

Once the paint dried, I added the stencil Paper Artsy PS310 using Bougainvillea paint.

I then stamped the lightbulb onto the panel and also splattered some Glimmer Mist in Bronze Penny.

I stamped the lightbulb a second time on white cardstock and colored with Polychromos pencils. I fussy cut the main portion of the image and added it to the panel with foam adhesive.

The panel is complete and ready for a card base! This card came together really quickly and will be easy to recreate. Thanks for joining!

Welcome Little One - 2 baby cards

Spring and Summer are the perfect seasons to create baby cards. I'm sharing two sweet baby cards here and at the Topflight Stamps blog featuring stamps and stencils from Craft Emotions.

I created these cards uses the adorable stamp set "Baby Girl" by Craft Emotions. I started by stamping every image on Neenah cardstock and coloring with my Polychromos pencils. I fussy cut the images with my Cutter Bees.

To create the starry background I used a Craft Emotions Starry Sky stencil with Cosmic Shimmer Paste and Wow! Embossing Glitter in Coconut Ice.

I also created a second card using all blue and the tiny star and heart stamps available in the set.

The background was stamped with the tiny images using a variety of ink colors from Prism Ink.

Have a very creative week ahead. Thanks for stopping in!

Ocean of Love card

Welcome back and happy Monday! Today I'm sharing a sweet ocean themed card using products available at the Topflight Stamps site.

I really enjoyed coloring all the sweet images in the Heffy Doodle "Oceans of Love" stamp set. They're all so cute that I colored every single image! All images are colored with Copic markers and fussy cut with my Cutter Bee scissors.

I die cut the ocean with Lawn Fawn Stitched Wave Border Die and ink blended the water using Prism inks. I started from lightest at the top to darkest at the bottom. The inks used are Arctic MistPeriwinkle, and Nautical Blue

I then die cut the sand bar from Lawn Fawn Hillside Border dies and heat embossed using Hero Arts Sand embossing powder.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink and the word 'oceans' was stamped with the Nautical Blue Prism Ink.

Thanks for joining me today! Have a creative week ahead!

Meerkat Party with Hobby Art

Hello everyone, I'm soooo excited to share this card today! This week the Topflight Stamps team is showcasing Hobby Art Ltd products, and I fell in love with their Meerkat Madness stamp set.

Don't you just wanna hang out with this partying meerkat? She's definitely having the time of her life!

To create the card, I first stamped and colored the images with Copic markers. I cut the images using detail scissors.

I then stamped the grassy hills and the tree directly to the cardstock panel. I used Copics to quickly color the ground and trees.

Next I used post-it tape to create a rough border along the ground and also to mask the tree. I'll be ink blending the sky and the masking will protect what's already been colored.

Here's what the panel looks like after ink blending and removing the masking paper.

I stamped "Let's Party!" in the top corner and adhered the meerkat with foam adhesive.

I hope you love her as much as I do! Thanks for stopping in.

Uplifting Succulent card tutorial

The world needs more of YOU! Hello everyone and happy Monday. I'm over at the Topflight Stamps blog sharing this uplifting card with you all.

I started by stamping and coloring with Copics this gorgeous succulent image from Paper Rose called Flower Pot Border. I also fussy cut the image with Cutter Bee detail scissors.

Next, I used the stencil Jofy PS310 from Paper Artsy to ink up the background of my card panel. The colors used are Prism Ink Canary Yellow and Prism Ink Camillia Pink.

Then I pulled out my Versamark ink pad and the beautiful Magic Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder trio. I inked the edge of the sentiment strip with Versamark ink and used Brassy Twinkle powder. The sentiment is from the Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text stamp set.

I decided the card needed even more of this gorgeous powder, so I inked up the edges of a second layering panel to heat up with the Brassy Twinkle powder.

Put it all together and here is the finished look...
