Mixed Media Monthly Challenge - Dimension

Hello April! A brand new month is always something exciting, especially when you can look forward to a new Mixed Media Monthly Challenge! We've made April EXTRA special with a fantastic sponsor and a super talented guest designer. They're all taking part in our April Dimension challenge.

Our awesome sponsor this month is STAMPERS ANONYMOUS! They are generously giving away TWO prize packs that include a Wendy Vecchi stamp set AND stencil... so did you guess who our Guest Designer is?! The talented WENDY VECCHI! Make sure you visit the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge blog to see her gorgeous creation! :)

I was feeling super 80's Baby with my canvas this month. I wanted black paint and neon pinks and blues!

I started with a messy coat of black chalkboard paint for the background. Then I used modeling paste over a new The Crafter's Workshop stencil called 'Overlapping Stripes'. I colored my Texture Paste with a drop of Dina Wakley acrylic paint in Fushia and Ocean to use over the stencil.

I added some texture with microbeads and Liquitex Resin medium. Then I stamped the butterflies from Unity's December 2015 SMAK kit with white acrylic paint.

The wings and the dressing form are both stamps from Unity's December 2015 SMAK. I heat embossed the images in different shades of blue embossing powder, then colored them in with watercolors. I attached them to my canvas with thick foam adhesive.

Thanks for joining me on this lovely April morning! I can't wait to see all of your creations filled with DIMENSION in our Mixed Media Monthly Gallery! Good luck!

March Unity HOP!

It is the last day of March but the Unity team is still going strong and bring lots of inspiration for our MARCH HOP! Let's get right to it!

I'm giving you all a little sneak peak of the new April Kit of the Month that will release tomorrow! I really love the spring images in this kit. I also stamped the background in white ink with a stamp from the February 2016 SMAK. The flowers were colored with Copic markers.

I had fun with this dream catcher stamp (also from April kit of the month!) and pairing it with my old Glitz Wild and Free papers. I also color the image with Copics and did some loose fussy cutting so I could pop up the dream catcher.

Of course there's a SALE along with some awesome new releases!!

Make sure you visit all of the Unity ladies and leave them some love! Then you're entered for a chance to win a Unity Prize pack!! Happy Hopping!

Arizona is a State of Mind

Do you have a scrappy/crafty crush? I've been crushing for yeeeaarrrss on Elizabeth Kartchner, creator of the always fun Dear Lizzy lines. The secret's out! So I'm thrilled the Paper Issues team is shining the spotlight on the newest Dear Lizzy "Happy Place" collection.

What initially drew me into this collection was the 'Cactus Cooler' paper. I spent 20 years of my life in Phoenix, Arizona so you KNOW I have plenty of photos to work with for this collection!

These photos are from a few years ago when I went hiking with my mom and dad in Sedona, AZ. To make the title even more fitting, I'm rocking my University of Arizona alumni t-shirt! Go Cats!

Arizona really is a state of mind <3

Make sure you stock up on all your Dear Lizzy goodies before they sell out in the Paper Issues store! Use your code RWKRAFTS at checkout for 20% off your ENTIRE order! Go ahead and spoil yourself with this collection... I sure did!

C'est La Vie

C'est La Vie! Such is life... but it is also a gorgeous new paper collection from Pink Paislee!
Today the Paper Issues team is showcasing projects that feature the dreamy C'est La Vie line of papers and embellishments.

I made a simple card that uses the 6x6 paper pack and the puffy stickers. Very quick to assemble. I love how effortlessly all the papers mix and match with each other. I fell in love with this line way more than I expected! Wish I had ordered more :)

Make sure you place your order in the Paper Issues store using code RWKRAFTS at checkout to receive 20% off your ENTIRE ORDER! Then you'll have plenty of goodies to play with during our annual Spring Crop! I PROMISE you don't want to miss out! It's always such a good time!

Oh, Hello - Sketchy Saturday

The weekend is here and it feels like spring! You should probably spend some time outside, but in the event you find yourself inside crafting, let today's Sketchy Saturday sketch give you a boost!

I used a variety of Simple Stories products for this 9 photo layout. For Valentine's Day my husband and I went to Washington DC (my first time ever visiting!). We went to see a comedy show called "Oh, Hello" featuring Nick Kroll and John Mulaney (our favorites) and spent the morning wondering around the 15 degree temps. Rather than making several scrap pages for one day, I made the photos small and added them all on this one page.

The paper used is Simple Stories "Heart", and the embellishments and frames are from Simple Stories "Let's Party" and "Carpe Diem." I love these collections much more than I ever expected to! ALL of these lines are still available in the Paper Issues store!

Make sure you visit the original post for all the details on how to enter for your chance to win a PI store gift card!

And don't forget to use your code RWKRAFTS for 20% off your ENTIRE order at Paper Issues!!

Triple Threat - Pinspire Me

It's Friday! There is a brand new Pinspire Me mood board that will definitely put a smile on your face and make you wanna scrap the weekend away!

Rainbows, hearts, bows, green, and lizards... what's not to love?! I definitely made a very rainbow-themed layout for this challenge. These photos are from my first meeting with fellow Paper Issues girl Jen Chesnick! Her personality is just as bright and fun as her darling daughter's, so bright happy colors are the perfect fit for this layout!

I recently got a HUGE haul from the Paper Issues shop, which included a lot of bright things from the new Simple Stories collections "Carpe Diem" and "Let's Party!". You can also see I stamped the background with the brand new Pinkfresh Studio 'Doodle Background' stamp... I can't wait to use it on a card!

And of course I had to include a cute little bow from Parker on the Porch! (Jen is the creator of all the POPs in the paper issues store, and owner of Parker on the Porch!)

Make sure you play along with the Pinspire challenge! Share your projects with the Paper Issues Friends and Fans facebook group and you could win some moola to the PI store!! Happy scrapping!

As always, you can buy ALL of the products used on this layout in the Paper Issues online store. Make sure you use the code RWKRAFTS for 20% off your entire order!
