Falling Leaves - Autumn Cards

Does it feel like autumn yet where you live? Here in the bay area, September and October are actually our hottest months... but the leaves still change color and fall! Today I'm on the Topflight Stamps blog sharing a couple of autumnal cards with you all.

I paired a couple of beautiful leaf-themed stamp sets from the Topflight Stamps store to create these cards. For the base of the panel, I stamped Crafty Individuals "Falling Leaves" with Red Brick Prism ink.

To create the larger leaves, I used the stamp set "Erika's Maple" by Visible Image. I heat embossed the maple leaves using Wow! powder in Brassy Twinkle. The stamped and embossed leaves were then sprayed with Lavinia Mysticals Mist in Bumble Bee and Indian Sunset. Once dried, I fussy cut the leaves and glued to the card panel.

Lastly, the sentiment was stamped with Prism Ink in Slate Gray and added to the panel with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping in! Happy almost-September!

Desert Birthday Card with Hero Arts

I'm back with a record amount of blog posts for one week! I recently received ALL THE THINGS from the August 2022 My Monthly Hero kit and it hasn't disappointed! Today I'm sharing a birthday card that uses mainly the stencils from the kit. I'm also entering the card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Sparkle and Shine.

I used the desert stencils to create the main scene on the card. The first layer uses Hero Hues ink in Camel, then Sand. The cactus stencils are inked with Hero Arts ink in Green Hills, shaded with some Field Greens, then finished with Pine. The sun is inked with Distress Inks Squeeze Lemonade and Carved Pumpkin. Finally, the sky is inked with Distress Ink in Kitsch Flamingo.

I wanted to add sparkle for the SSS challenge, so I used the stencils again to add some Liquitex Gloss Gel and topped that with Distress Rock Candy Glitter.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is stamped from Hero Arts Seaside Highway HeroScape set. I used Hero Arts watermark ink and Hero Arts Gold embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Merry Christmas with Jane's Doodles

Welcome back crafters! This week the whole Topflight Stamps team is celebrating Jane's Doodles products. For my card today, I'm using a couple Jane's Doodles set to create a holiday card.

I used the fun Santa truck image from Jane's Doodles "Be Merry" stamp set. I colored the image with Copics and fussy cut. I also stamped the pine trees from Jane's Doodles "Happy Camper" set, which were colored with Copics and fussy cut.

I put the scene together with a snowy hillside at the base. The sentiment was stamped with Prism Ink in "Red Brick".

It's never too early to work on those holiday cards! The winter season will be here before we know it :)

Birthday Cactus Card with My Monthly Hero

I'm popping in for a quick card created with the August Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit. The kit this month was mostly desert vintage themed which meant I NEEDED ALL THE THINGS! I finally got around to using it, and it will definitely be the only supplies out on my desk for a while.

I was inspired to join in the August Stay Crafty challenge: Squares. I started with the Hero Arts Cactus Bold Prints stamp which is heat embossed on black paper using Hero Arts Brass embossing powder. The panel was then cut with my Fiskars trimmer to be a 4" square. Then I found the center of the panel using my T-ruler and used a square Spellbinders die to cut out the center.

The sentiment was stamped directly on the card base using Hero Hues Pine ink (from the monthly kit) and the stamp is from the Roadside Messages stamp. I used my gold Wink of Stella pen to add some glittery gold accents to the flags (my pen leaked a bit on one of the flags... oh well!)

There are some great cactus dies included in the monthly kit, and I thought they'd make good accents around the window. I used the Hero Hues Pine ink to swipe the ink onto a piece of cardstock. Then I die cut the cactus out of the inked cardstock and glued them to the corner of the window.

A super simple card that has a big impact! I am so in love with this kit... can't wait to keep creating!

Forever is composed of nows - art journal page

Welcome back to another creative week! Today I'm at the Topflight Stamps blog and I'm sharing the steps to an art journal page that features the gorgeous Lavinia Mysticals Mists.

First I gesso'd a page in my Dina Wakley art journal. Once dry, I heavily sprayed the page with Lavinia mists in Bumble Bee and Fruit Sorbet.

Next, I used the AALL & Create stencil "Hung Up on Hearts" with Paper Artsy fresco paint in Twilight. I used the stencil to create the flow of the page, so only part of the stencil is painted.

Then I added some torn strips of washi tape and I used another AALL & Create stencil called Totally Dotty and only sprayed a small section with Lavinia mists in Kingifhser

Of course, I needed to add some splatters! I splattered across the page with Prism Mists in Midnight Black.

Lastly, I grouped together some Mushroom stamps by Katzelkraft and glued them to my page. I also added some small pink beads that I found in my stash.

The page actually came together super quickly. I love using the Lavinia Mists, they make it so easy!
