Ahoy! Ahoy! Ahoy!

Now that it FINALLY feels like spring, it's time for all things coral and nautical! The craft world is not immune to this trendy combo, and I'm completely ok with that ;)

For today's card I'm using a brand new stamp set from October Afternoon "Treasure Map" and my brand new Distress Ink pads in Abandoned Coral and Mermaid Lagoon. I created this card for both the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (to use CORAL) and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (to get SENTIMENTAL)

I started with the fun inky background on watercolor paper. I smooched my ink pads directly on my craft mat, sprayed with water, and dabbed the watercolor paper directly on top. This creates the fun splotchy ocean background.

I did this technique with Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, and then did a final wash of Tumbled Glass ink.

I stamped the octopus and seahorses with Fossilized Amber and Abandoned Coral. They were also stamped on watercolor paper (to keep all the textures consistent) and fussy cut.

I arranged the animals how I wanted then stamped 'Ahoy!' next to each little animal. I finished the scene with some Wink of Stella glitter and ombre anchors in the background.

TGIF and have a happy Mother's Day weekend!

Love,
Rachel
