"Give Thanks" Autumn Banner

Woohoo I finished a banner in one day! I made this "Give Thanks" banner much much simpler than that Halloween one I made last month. But of course there is plenty of sparkle and glitter included (that's just how I roll)

I wasn't liking this one very much while I was making it. It was just toooo simple. But now that it's hanging I just love it, and the rich colors look fabulous in the home!

The shapes for this are all very very easy. Each letter is placed on a rich brown Acorn cut out. (Because what is the fall without cute little squirrels and acorns?!) and there are three cut outs of Oak Leaves bordering the words. So all the cuts in this banner are just an acorn, an oak leaf, and the letters. Easy! And each shape I found in the Make the Cut gallery for freesies... bonus :)
So once I assembled all the shapes, I ran into quite a dilemma. How the hell was I going to hang this? I couldn't punch just a single hole in the top of the acorn (like I envisioned) or they would all turn sideways on each other.  And hot gluing all the string on the back would look very crappy, I was certain. So... light bulb went on! Clothespins!

The clothespins worked fabulously!! They do move along the string, which was actually very helpful because then I could slide each piece over til the whole thing looked centered. And do you like how pretty and sparkly they are?! The clothespins actually took more time to make than all of the cut outs. I colored each pin with a teal permanent marker, then went over the front with icicle Stickles (my fave). They match the teal on my oak leaves so well

I hope you like my simple Thanksgiving banner! I love how I can see all the shiny glitter from across the room :) It looks so warm and cozy now!
