Runway Hello

Monday. Ugh. All those deadlines you put off over the weekend are suddenly screaming at your face! So, in usual fashion, I ignored them and made a fun card instead :) This is my first time EVER linking up to the Runway Inspired Challenge! I had a lot of fun interpreting the photo into a card.

First thing I noticed is the houndstooth, so that's the first paper I grab. Then I wanted to add some floral elements in a dark navy and red color. Also, the angle of the photo makes her look even taller than she probably is, so I opted to make a "tall" card sized 3.75" x 5.5"

I love this houndstooth paper from DCWV. It's actually from my all time favorite 'basic' stack called "Dots, Stripes, and Plaids". (Would you believe me if I told you I own 4 of these paper stacks??) I also made this card with the DCWV September Stack-a-Holic card sketch in mind. Make sure to visit the DCWV blog for info on how to enter your projects! Besides the houndstooth, all paper is from DCWV "Coral and Navy" stack. I fussy cut the flower embellishments from some of the patterns in the paper. I die cut the Lawn Fawn "Scripty Hello" 3 times, layered them, and added glossy accents.

Thanks for spending a short time with me on your crazy busy Monday :)
