Snappity Snap

Do you consider 'Ombre' to be a trend?? A few weeks ago I saw a tweet that said, "I'm not sure if Ombre is still in style, but I made this anyway". So this really bothered me. Since when is 'ombre' something that's in and out of style?? Is it only because it has recently been given that new name... "ombre"?? Was it not super cool when it was better known as a "color gradient"? Or "one color fading into another"?? I certainly wouldn't consider a beautiful sunset to be going out of style any time soon. I just may not refer to it as a "beautiful ombre sunset".

Now that my rant is finished, I'd like to share a little ombre card with some new-to-me Unity stamps. I'll be linking this up with the Unity Friends with Flair Friday! TGIF

I stamped the camera (Unity Stamp - Oh Snap) multiple times, colored with various Copics (Y, YR, R family), fussy cut, and adhered to the card. I also colored in the sentiment with the same Copic color to mimic the ombre look. The stars and 'I forgot' are from Avery Elle stamps.

I had one camera left over so I created this itty bitty card to go with the Itty Bitty stamp. The sentiment is from a Unity grab bag that I recently won (most generous company ever, I swear!)

Do you have any suppressed thoughts about ombre? I'd love to know!!

  9. I don't think the word ombre would ever be used by me in the same sentence when describing a beautiful sunrise or sunset. Loving your thoughts on the matter and your cards. Your coloring is fabulous.

  14. OK, I had to laugh at your rant. Ombre was in last summer, not this summer? Darn! I'm always behind. And your right, call it something else and enjoy it. Your artistically gradient-ed card is amazing!

  18. Totally agree with Unity being generous. Fabulous colors on thuis card. Love it. I say if you like something do it....whether some expert (or not) says it is in/out of style. The more techniques we have, the more we can mix them up.
