Teen Birthday

The Paper Crafts Magazine Gallery Idol 2013 has begun, and open auditions are, well, open... until the end of May. The theme is kid and teen birthday cards. The very first idea I had for this theme was to use a cool cassette tape, so here it is...

It's a perfect teen card because teens 'these days' have most likely never used a cassette tape. But then also that makes this card so ironic. And teens love to be ironic. So yes, it's perfect.

I used my Silhouette to cut the cassette SVG file (you can find the entire 'Love Rocks' SVG set here). I like to cut my layers in all white cardstock and then color them how I want. For this image I colored the layers with Copics N2, 110, YG07, BG13, RV09, and RV25.

Let's be honest, it needed some glitter. I used Stickles "Black Diamond" and "Glam Pink" to accent different parts of the cassette.

The sentiment was printed with a font called "boogie down", and anchored with some pink washi tape on the card base. I also did some slight splatters with Dylusions inks in "Fresh Lime" and "Vibrant Turquoise". The teal enamel dots are from My Mind's Eye.

And not one flippin' stamp was used on this card.

Hope your birthday ROCKS!
