Desert Scene Shadow Box

Happy autumn! Regardless of the season, my heart is always in the Arizona heat :) So today I'm sharing a desert themed shadow box created for the newest Stampotique Challenge - NATURE.

I used my favorite desert-y Stampotique stamps, which includes "Road Runner", "Cactus Row", and "Home Sweet Home". I colored the images with Scribble Sticks and Neocolor II Crayons.

I also have a process video so you can watch how it all came together. Click here to watch!

Thank you so much for joining me.

Be YOU - Mixed Media Card and Video

I'm excited to share a card today that's a bit outside of my usual card-making comfort zone. Today I created a very mixed media inspired card. I took my usual techniques that I incorporate into an art journal page but translated it onto a slimline card (also a new shape for me!).

The challenge for the next two weeks the Stampotique Originals Facebook Page is GIRLS! So pull out your funky girl stamps and create anything you want. Enter your project to the challenge album on facebook and you have a chance to win a $30 gift card to the Stampotique store!

For my card I used the very cool "Algae" girl stamp and colored her with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. I paired her with a great "be you" chipboard shape from Dina Wakley. She definitely looks like a girl who doesn't care what others think!

For details on how I created the background, please watch the process video here! Enjoy!

September Stampotique New Releases!

Happy September! So many wonderful things happen this month like my birthday (!), beginning of autumn, and today we have new releases from Stampotique!

The card above features the new stamp "Pot Garden" #13067 which I colored with Copic markers and fussy cut to place on the card. I did some very simple mixed media for the background here. I used the Rays stencil from Tim Holtz with some Liquitex Modeling Paste that I tinted with Wild Honey Distress Paint. The pink splatters are from Dina Wakley Gloss Spray "Magenta"

I had fun with this art journal page, especially the background! I focused on texture on the background which I covered with a white wash and then painted with blue hues of Arteza Metallic Acrylic Paints. I used the Stampotique "Tomas" #6280 which I also painted with Arteza paints. The fun phrase is the new Stampotique "Snarky Quotes" #13068.

I had fun with this tag, because I just love the new "Me and You Soup" #6277 stamp so much! This tag also uses the Tim Holtz Rays stencil and the background is colored with Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays in Cheddar and White. I colored the silly stamp with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and fussy cut him to add to the tag. The fun quote is also from the new Stampotique "Snarky Quotes" #13068 set.

Happy September everyone!!
