Hello and happy hump day! I'm really excited for today's post! I created three cards in under 30 minutes using a very very easy "formula". Other than the fast time, the best part is that all the cards are still totally different. I'm using 3 journal cards from Sweet Stamp Shop "Ahoy Kit" to make 3 cards, all following the same basic sketch.
Card number 1 is definitely my personal favorite:
I'm pretty sure that if something is nautical, I will love it. The journal card from the "Ahoy Kit" is the beautiful red and white striped card. It had the empty circle in the middle, which lets me put whatever stamp I want inside! I did some simple Copic coloring with that pirate ship from "Ahoy!" and used the Sail Away sentiment from "Sail Away Sayings". Since the journal card I created is very very nautical, I paired it with the great anchor paper and knot paper from DCWV "Hey Sailor" stack (by the way, that's one of my favorite stacks evvvvver by DCWV).
Alright, now time for card #2...
I had SO much fun playing with this cute crabby journal card. I was able to dress up the crab by stamping these funky eyeballs on him :) The eyes and the sentiments are from the brand new "Monster Mash" stamp set! It's such a great set to mix and match with other stamps, I really love working with it.
Now for card #3...
A little less nautical and a little more straight up summer! For this card I used some brighter colored paper to make everything feel more 'summery'. Since the journal card already says "SUMMERTIME" all I had to add was the beach chair and the sentiment. I used stamps from "Campout" and "Beach Bum".
Do you recognize the 'sketch' I used? I should really say they're all one design. And such a simple one at that.
- All card bases use kraft cardstock (Neenah Desert Storm) measured 5.5"x4.25"
- All cards have a pattern paper mat, measured 4"x5.25"
- All cards have a smaller pattern paper mat to match the journal card, measured 4.25"x3.25"
- All cards have a finished journal card on top from the Ahoy Kit, measures 4"x3"
- All cards are finished with a simple bow tied across the fold
Thanks for popping in today! I hope you use up some of your Sweet Stamp Shop journal cards to make some very quick and adorable greeting cards!<3 Rachel
