Play Date Cafe #156

Happy Play Date Cafe day!!! There are yummy autumn colors for you to enjoy this week... cinnamon, squash, vanilla, and sage. AND we are sponsored by DRS Designs, who supplied us with high quality rubber stamps to enjoy  :)

I used DRS Design stamps "Tree Line Border" and "Let it Snow" with some basic colored cardstock.

The trees were stamped in brown and icicle stickles were added to the hills. I used sand paper to distress the edges of the red paper. The emboss power was a mixture of Martha Stewart and Recollections bronze and gold powders.

Make sure to join us in the Cafe this week. Remember, you can make WHATEVER YOU WANT as long as it's inspired by these colors :) Have fun!

Jotty, Jot, Jot

We're in the middle of hurricane Sandy here in Connecticut. But as long as I've still got power (which yes, I do) I will blog this night away :)

This little card is one of the quickest I've ever made, and I actually like it! I am entering it in the Moxie Fab "Journaling Card Challenge" and CAS-ual Friday "Kraft On" challenge.

First I have to show you my adorable Meeko (oh hey follow me on instagram @rwkrafts)...

He's soooo squishable! Love him :)

Now the card...

There are three different journal cards used: two from K&Co Smash pad "blank" and one from Kaiser craft "seaside". The chipboard exclamation is from an old DCWV chipboard set and a random brad from Oriental Trading Co.

Stay safe from winds!

Val de Victorian

Oh Moxie Fab. You give me such inspiration but such challenges sometimes. I made this card the first day the challenge was posted (three weeks ago) and there was something I just didn't like. So it sat on the desk. I stared at it a lot. I didn't do anything to it. So on the last day of the challenge, I just give in and post it.

The picture is amazing, the colors are unique and gorgeous. My crafty mojo just couldn't walk up that damned victorian hill!

materials: pattern paper from October Afternoon "calkwalk". stamps from Paper Smooches "good gab" "hang ups" and "promenade". Copics. Memento brown ink.

I hope you all are safe from the storm

Gracias Birdie

Halloween cards are being written and dropped in the mailbox... so that means, no more Halloween cards for now :)

This card was made for the Paper Smooches Sparks photo challenge and the CAS-ual Fridays challenge "over the edge"

I pulled out an oldie but goodie DCWV paper set "lemon flower", and Paper Smooches stamp sets "Spring Groves" and "Good Gab". The card was finished off with Liquid Pearls, twine, and foam dots.

These are very late-night photos... maybe I should invest in a light box?

p.s. You have until midnight tonight to enter in the Play Date Cafe anniversary challenge! Tons of priiiizzes!!

October Stack-a-Holic

I made three scrapbook pages today... that's more than I've done in the past 3 months woohooo

This is my entry for the DCWV October Stack-a-Holic challenge. I used papers from the Mainstreet Stack.

Here is the sketch:

I printed two instagram photos from this autumn. The "do it" memo is from K & Co Smashbook notepads, and I punched the top with a good ol' normal hole puncher.

Happy Autumn 2012! I'm not at all prepared for winter :(

Snowy Texture

One of the cards I made during world card making day was for the Lawnscaping texture challenge. I had a lot of fun reaching inside my kindergarten-self and using cotton balls for snow :)

Here's a little snowy scene...

There's kinda too much going on here, but it was a lot of fun to make and I think it'll make someone smile, at least :)

Texture includes: cotton ball snow, glitter, twine, glossy accents on the lolli, embossed sentiment, and pearls. Ya... too much? too bad!

materials: lawn fawn "critters in the snow" and "sweet christmas", paper smooches "christmas sampler", copics, cotton ball, we r memory keepers twine, oriental trading pearls, glossy accents, silver stickles, cheap embossing powder in teal, memento ink "tuxedo black", versamark

But I really hope we get a light snowy winter this year. Keep those fingers crossed
