December Hero Studio Hop - You're Souper

I do believe that the month of November simply did not exist... seriously... I blinked and it was gone and now we're in December!?

Welcome to the Hero Studio Hop! The kits this month are truly souper ;) Hero Arts will give away a $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, December 7th at 11:59pm MT, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week. Leave a comment on all stops for more chances to win! Make sure you're logged in, or sign your name, so you can enter the giveaway!

I have two cards to share with you today that feature the Die Set of the Month and the Layering Stencils of the month.

Every single kit works with another kit, so you may want to get the Whole Studio for this month. This Fancy Die set was so much fun to play with to create this card. The best part is that the set includes the whole alphabet, so you can really create your own message with alphabet soup :)

The secondary sentiment I added comes from the main Card Kit of the Month. I was sticking to a rust color theme, so to achieve that color I first stamped the sentiment in core inks Pale Tomato and then stamped a second time in Pumpkin ink. It creates a perfect rust color.

My second card features the December Layering Stencils of the Month. I hope you're getting Andy Warhol vibes here!

This stencil set comes with four different stencils that layer on top. I kept mine simple with a red monochromatic look. In order of layer, the inks I used are: Cotton Candy, Azalea, Pale Tomato, and Cranberry. The center of the card uses the Stamp and Cut Kit of the Month...

For the most part, this main ramen noodle image is only colored with stamps and ink from the kit. I just added some BG0000 to the spoon and edges of the cup, and I colored the little veggie pieces green, red, or yellow. Simple simple!

I hope you love these kits as much as I do! Be sure to hop and leave comments for a chance to win a Hero Arts gift certificate. Make sure you're logged in when you comment; if not it will show as anonymous.

Ski-sons Greetings

We made it to December! To kick off the wintery month I have a fun snowy card to share.

Thanks for stopping by! Some links are affiliates at no cost to you. Thank you for your support!

This entire set is designed so well, so I did buy the bundle! I couldn't leave one behind. The little A-Frame ski house is so cute, and I just had to make it cotton candy colored. Traditional wood houses are not to be found here!

All papers used on this card are from the new ColorWheel cardstock sets.

The skiers are a separate die set (but they are included in the bundle!) and you can mix and match their outfits, boots, hair etc. I made my skier match her fun little house, of course.

The little ski slope embossing folder really ties it all together.

Wishing you all a happy December ahead!

Thankful For You

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends in the United States! This happens to be my favorite week of the entire year... food, family, good movies, good sportsball, and drinks :) Cheers!

I created a mixed media thankful card for you all! But the actual recipient will be my husband... I will never have enough words to let him know how grateful I am for his support, always.

This card uses some beautiful BetterPress plates by Dina Wakley. I ordered them upon first release many months ago and they've been sitting in my "need to use" bin. I'm sad it took me so long to get to them!

I started by gluing some Dina Wakley collage paper to watercolor paper. Once dried with my heat tool, I then ink blended the edges with Spicy Mustard Ink, then also sprayed the panel with Yellow Metallic Spray and Acrylic Mineral Spray.

Once all of the sprays were completely dried, I started to BetterPress! I started with the press plates that I wanted to ink in Cornflower blue, which are from both the Growing BetterPress Plates and the Flourishing BetterPress Plates. I then inked up the spotted image plates in Espresso Ink, whcih are both from the same sets.

I looooove how much indentation there is with the layers of the mixed media panel.

Keeping it quick today... enjoy your holiday!

Happy Brunch Day!

I know it's not Sunday, which is the perfect day for brunch, but hump-day Wednesday is the next best thing!

I imagine they are all dancing in excitement before I pour maple syrup on top of them and eat them :)

When I saw the egg die I actually first thought it was a sliced avocado! I guess that's the California in me. So since I'm the only one who thought "avo!" I made sure to include an egg, too. This adorable die set is the Spellbinders November Small Die of the Month. I do look forward to getting these each month, and I have been a sub to the small die for three full years now. It's a great value and the dies are always very fun!

All of my dies are cut from various ColorWheel cardstock colors. I also used the Plaid Company Embossing Folder for the background to add some subtle texture.

Oh my gosh and they're drinking little coffees, too. I love them!

Hey There, Book Worm

I hope you've been enjoying all of the November Hero Studio inspiration. The book theme is just so much fun and a great mini escape from all the holiday cards filling your feeds! I have two more cards to share that feature different kits from the release. To view my original two cards for the release, visit my blog post here.

I said it before and I'll say it again... this little wormy is the star of the entire release! This card uses the open book dies from the November Card Kit. The worm himself and the 'hello book worm' come from the November Die Set. I used the beautiful new ColorWheel cardstocks to put this one together.

My second card came together very quickly. There was much much less die cutting and gluing compared to my book worm card...

The November Cling Stamp is the star of this card. I can see that checkerboard pattern being popular for summer themed cards, too. I stamped the cling in Dusty Blue and Cornflower for an ombre look. The stamped panel was cut with the Rounded Rectangle Infinity Dies.

The sweet image is from the November Stamp and Cut set. I did some very basic coloring with my Copics, die cut the image, and centered it on some Peony cardstock cut with the Rounded Jewel Infinity Die. I finished it off with some flowers cut from the main November Card Kit.

I have to share my bonus card! I absolutely love love loooove this collection from Hero Arts. Unfortunately, it was released at a very busy/not-so-great time in my personal life, so I didn't have time to use it much.

The cover plate is from the December 2024 kit called Rainbows and Clouds, but it is currently available to purchase online. I ink blended the cover plate portion (from bottom/lightest to top/darkest) with the following Reactive Inks: Taffy, Grape Slush, Splash, and Blue Hawaii.

The darling clouds are from the Floral Rainbows and Clouds set, colored with Copic Markers. I tucked the Pear Blossom Light behind the top cloud. My idea for this card was that there is always sunshine around the corner on a dreary day.

And Everything Nice Collection from SSS

Hello and welcome to the HOLIDAYS! It's basically mid-November at this point (where has this month gone?!) and the holiday cards have already taken over. I'm simply here to add a couple more wintery themed cards using new stamps from the Simon Says Stamp "And Everything Nice" collection.

Such a sweet little snowman! I love the birdie helping him wrap the holiday lights. I colored this image using my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. This one stays simple with just the addition of the sweet sentiment, "Snowman Kisses and Warm Winter Wishes".

Both of my cards today use the sweet stamp set called Wrapped in Scarves. My second card uses the other snowman in the set...

It's safe to assume the only thing this snowman is saying right now is, "Wheeeeeee!!!!" The large snowman in the background is also from the Wrapped in Scarves set. I paired the scene with some classic Lawn Fawn Stitched Mountain Dies. All of the snow is cut from white glitter paper to add a shimmery wintery touch.

November Hero Studio Hop!

The best time of the month is here! November's Hero Studio has arrived and it is perfect for all the book lovers in your life. Hero Arts will give away a $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Wednesday, November 5th at 11:59pm PT, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week. Leave a comment on all stops for more chances to win!

My first card features the November Card Kit of the Month. I love the book stacking die and the included stamp set allows you to really personalize the message you want to share.

The colors I used for the book stack are (from the top down):
Celestial cardstock with Stone Wash ink
Breeze cardstock with Dusty Blue ink
Malibu cardstock with Cornflower ink
Beeswax cardstock with Butter Bar ink

Card Kit of the Month includes everything in this photo!

Part of the card kit includes another full die set that has little flowers and the leaf die. I used that to decorate around the book stack with the lilac flowers.

My next card features the darling Laying Stencil of the Month called On the Shelf.

Don't you love that stencil?! For inking up each stencil layer, I used inks Dusty Blue, then Stone Wash, then Arctic, then Dandelion. To make the card look like a mini book, I added the green cardstock strip along the left side and stamped it with a design from the Card Kit set.

I added the adorable worm from the Die Set of the Month (he really is the star of the entire release, in my opinion) and the open book is from the Card Kit.

Be sure to continue along the hop! Leave your comments for a chance to win $50 to Hero Arts!

Fa La La La Latte

It is the week of Halloween so naturally... I have a holiday card to share! Don't worry, I didn't use red and green this time 😉

This card uses the brand new Letterpress and Foil plates from Hero Arts. I was super inspired by a card from Michelle Short , although she uses foil and I'm mimicking the look with my Unicorn Ink on a dark cardstock (Plum). So, this card is created using my BetterPress. I first used the Cup of Cheer Santa image with the fun sentiment in the BetterPress. I paired this system with my Spellbinders Platinum 8.5 Die Cutting System - which gives me perfect results every time!

The background (although it just peaks out a bit) uses the Celebration Plate, which I inked with Nautical and also ran through the BetterPress. Both layers were then die cut with my favorite Postage Infinity Dies.

Super quick and simple! Thanks for stopping by!

Best Gift Ever - New Collection Dropped!

There's a new collection dropping today at Hero Arts! The Best Gift Ever collection is a perfect holiday bundle, but it is also perfect for celebration cards of any occasion. Today I'm sharing three cards with the new set and they all happen to be holiday cards... when the time comes I can easily recreate with a birthday or a baby sentiment :)

I highly recommend saving a couple bucks and getting the Best Gift Ever Gift Boxes Bundle! The bundle includes the Gorgeous Giftwrap Layering Stencil, Gift Boxes Die Set, and the Wrap it Up Letterpress + Foil Plate. I used all three of those items for the card above. The sentiment comes from the Here for the Presents Letterpress + Foil set, which I did run through my BetterPress machine.

My second card uses just the Gift Boxes Die Set, and the Wrap it Up Letterpress + Foil set. I foiled the bows using my Glimmer Machine and Silver foil. Then I ink blended the cut out boxes with Key Lime Fizz, Green Apple, and Fresh Lawn. The sentiment is also foiled with silver (so hard to photograph!) from Here for the Presents Letterpress + Foil set. I did cut the Peony cardstock background from my favorite Postage Infinity Dies and also splattered with White paint.

Last one! This card uses the same sets as card 2, and I simply followed the pattern of the how the box die set is laid out. I kept this one nice and simple!

If you're on Instagram, make sure to comment on my post and join the blog hop for a chance to win a Hero Arts gift card!

Howl-o-ween Pupkin

I diverted away from the Halloween cards for a hot second but... I'm back! The adorable Pupkin Die was screaming to be used from the back of my "need to make soon" bin. And it's especially fitting because my doggy, Wicket, dressed up like a little pumpkin for Halloween last year.

First I put together the Pupkin using a mix of ColorWheel Cardstock and Hero Arts cardstock. I needed a nice place for the cutie to sit, so I dug out this Trellis Window Die for him to sit in front of. The sentiment was letter pressed from the Spooky Season set.

Using the lovely Haunted Romance dies, I cut out the little spider web and the variety of bats to add around the garden gate. This little die set seems simple but it has all your Halloween necessities! I keep it front and center in my stash during spooky season. And finally, I pulled out the cute ghost from one of the Craftoween advent sets (now sold out, unfortunately!).

Here's little Wicket dressed as a pumpkin last Halloween!

Autumn Color Challenge Cards

It is mid-October so it's time to jump into the autumn cardmaking! Concord and 9th has a fun new fall color challenge, and I decided to make a card for each color palette!

All of the cards today use the C9 Harvest Wreath Bundle. This set is like a mini turnabout, which lends itself to easily try a variety of color combos. My first color combo is Nectar, Spiced Cider, Lemongrass, and Nutmeg inks.

The cardstocks used match the ink colors. This one, I think, is the most classic autumn look.

The second color combo uses Briar Rose, Clementine, Cayenne and Avocado. The thank you sentiment was heat embossed with Brass embossing powder.

This color combo is my personal favorite of the batch, and is probably the least "autumn" looking of them all. The third card uses Tide Pool, Rainforest, Clementine, and Lemongrass.

Saving the most unique for last! This is another not-traditional color combo but I do love it so much! The last card uses the colors Clementine, Stardust, Tidepool and Pebble.

Thanks for stopping by!
