NEW Unity Hop Quick Tip

It's time for a BIG Unity hop! The crew has decided to have one HUGE blog hop a month instead of little hops each week. This way you can see projects from the entire team!

Today I decided to showcase the gorgeous February 2016 SMAK kit! I also have a brand new technique quick tip to share :)

I must have been inspired by the 80's with this card! I stamped the heart with archival black ink, cut it out, and then used Distress Inks to blend the bright colors together. For the card base, I used black Simon Says Stamp cardstock and added the SSS 'Falling Hearts' stencil with pink modeling paste. Then I layered the heart on foam dots (with some metallic blue thread behind it) and added the sentiment!

Make sure to check out my newest Quick Tip video to see how I created this page!

Ellen Hutson Pin-Sights Guest Designer

Pinch Me! I am SO excited to be guest designing for the Ellen Hutson Pin-Sights Challenge! In case you haven't heard about it, it is a monthly challenge based on a Pinterest inspired mood board. You can join in all the fun over at the CLASSroom Blog!

The inspiration photo this month is just DREAMY...

A lucky random challenge participant will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson store! To be eligible to win you must use Essentials by Ellen products and use the photo above for inspiration.

I really do love this inspiration photo! I was very inspired by the soft pastel color combination, the delicate flowers, and the heart photo inspired my sentiment choice.

The first thing I did was die cut a variety of flowers in watercolor paper from the Essentials by Ellen Wild Garden die set. I gave them a 'messy' rub with my Versamark ink pad and heat embossed them in gold. I didn't want them to be completely covered; I wanted them to still look delicate and airy.

The gorgeous paper is all from the new Pink Paislee C'est La Vie 6x6 paper pad. I used the Essentials by Ellen Love You So stamp set for the light grey hearts and the black embossed sentiment.

The sentiment panel is popped up with foam adhesive and then I finished off the card with some natural twine and a bow.
