Purple Ombre

Purple. Love it or hate it, right? Personally I think purple is a gorgeous wardrobe color, but I certainly don't find myself crafting with it. But of course, Cath at the Moxie Fab World always wants to push us out of our comfort zone! Here is the delicious Tuesday Trigger...

I used oil pastels to blend the background and used the emboss resist technique for the flowers.

First lightly coat a piece of cardstock with Gesso. Once the gesso is completely dry, stamp and emboss the flower with white embossing powder and melt with your heat gun. Use various purple shades of oil pastels and lightly color across the paper. Give it a light mist of water and simply use your fingers to blend. I like to do a final blend across the paper with a paper towel.

Like most emboss-resist techniques, use a baby wipe to remove any color left on the embossed image. Now your image is pearly white and there's a pretty ombre background! I stamped the sentiment in black and added little white bling.

All stamps used are from Unity Stamp Co "Insightful Meadows" and "Could I Be Any Cuter?". The oil pastels used are called Portfolio and you can get an entire set for around $9. It's worth it!

And since it's Friday, this is a Unity Friends with Flair post! Happy weekend!
