Child and T(w)een Birthdays

Ooh happy hump day. My hubs had a verrry intense cold and I'm afraid it has just gotten passed along to me. Sharing the love!

I have my final two submissions to Paper Crafts Gallery Idol 2013: Child and Teen Birthday Cards.

First up is my ever-so-hip Hipsterpotomus. Perfect for too-cool tweens and teens :)

I asked the hubs if the sentiment should be "a little birdie told me it's your birthday" or "hippo hippo hooray it's your birthday". And he came back with "how about 'hipster hippo hooray'" and I thought 'dammit! why didn't i think of that?!'... he's so smart ;)

The hippo is paper pieced with Dear Lizzy paper and the hat and birdie are paper pieced with Echo Park "Springtime" pad. The washi tapes are from Recollections and Freckled Fawn.

This sentiment took five different stamps from three stamp sets to put together: Avery Elle "Hipsterpotomus", Papertrey Ink "Tweet Talk", and Lawn Fawn "Here's the Scoop". Enamel dots are from My Mind's Eye.

The next card is a sweet children's birthday card...

This card uses stamps from My Cute Stamps "Circus Animals", Paper Smooches "Chit Chat", and Papertrey Ink "Tweet Talk". The elephant is paper pieced using October Afternoon "Cakewalk" pad. The little banners are from Dear Lizzy and the enamel dots from My Mind's Eye.

That's the end of my Gallery Idol submissions! I've maxed out my three entries. Good luck to everyone who plays along! My first teen birthday card entry was posted here.
