Play Date Cafe #171 with SRM Stickers

I have been spending the past week in my home town of Phoenix! This Play Date Cafe color story completely reminds me of Phoenix, so it's pretty fitting :)

Have fun creating with Tangerine, Apricot, and Mint. Play along for a chance to win a prize from the fun SRM Stickers

I made this happy trio of tags using only SRM Stickers (and some Tangelo ink around the edges).

So easy to put together and still very cute :)

We can't wait to browse your beautiful creations! Be sure to link them up over at the Play Date Cafe

Play Date Cafe with The Twinery

You know you love baker's twine. And you need it in every color. Not just every color but every shade of that color. And you still want more.

So how about you try to win the prize this week at the Play Date Cafe... a gift certificate from The Twinery!

Our beautiful colors are Stone, Denim, and Buttercup

I took a huge leap outside of my comfort zone and made a project that would just be dripping in twine!

I had this old jar in the cabinet (originally from Christmas Tree Shoppe) that needed some love. I wrapped the twine around the lip of the jar and created little twine pom poms.

To make the twine pom poms, you simply wrap a bundle of twine around the tongs of a fork. Then you tie a knot around that bundle. Pull the bunch off of the fork and cut all the loops with scissors. Give it a good fluff and you're finished.

The label was created using Papertrey Ink stamps "A Little Birdie Told Me" and "Winter Hills" sets. Inks are from Memento in "Teal Zeal" and "Dandelion", outlined with Distress Ink in grey. I adhered the label to the jar using a spray adhesive and holding it down for too long until it was totally set. Pom poms were also added with spray adhesive.

Go play at the Play Date Cafe! Have fun with your twines! All twine in this project is from the Twinery using the colors in 'Stone', 'Denim', and 'Buttercup'.

Olive You

It's a tad late for Valentine cards, but this simple sentiment can work for many other occasions or just a thinking of you.

Stamp set is Paper Smooches "Smoocheroos" and colored with Copics. I added glossy accents to the little heart.

Lawnscaping Valentine

A quickie Sunday evening post for the Lawnscaping challenge to be inspired by this photo...

I used Lawn Fawn "Love and Breakfast" set, Bella Blvd "Devoted" paper, and Memento ink.

The sentiment ink is a little too blue what I wanted. Also the toaster has it's pattern paper upside down. Woops. Live n' learn! I'm just thankful we have electricity after our snow storm!

Meeko in front of our house... not enjoying the snow.

Hip-Hop-opotamus

New stamps. New challenge. Flight of the Conchords. Giant blizzard.

These things all make for a very productive day :)

So I bought this new set of Avery Elle stamps "Hipster-potomus" for the sole reason that it reminded me of a Flight of the Conchords song. And then the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays is to create a clean and simple card based on a favorite song. Cha-ching

Here is the song I was inspired by: "Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros" by Flight of the Conchords. I hope you get a laugh out of it on this snow day!

And my card, mostly based on the lyrics
Here's the Hiphopopotamus
The hip hop hippo
They call me the Hiphopopotamus
My lyrics are bottomless
They call me the Hiphopopotamus

I wanted to use as many trendy hipster patterns as I could. Chevrons, arrows, plaids. Materials: pattern paper Bella Blvd "Devoted" and Basic Grey "What's Up?", Copic N4, washi tape from k&co and Freckled Fawn.
