Red, White, and Baby Blue!

But first.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MEEKO! He turns 6 years old today, and he is sleeping on my lap as I type. Doesn't get much cuter than this ;)

And I am puuuushing the deadline for some great challenges this week that both are inspired by red, white, baby blue, and denim blue. I'm going to guess Memorial Day was the theme for this week (Happy memorial day!)

The Play Date Cafe has an adorable color story, and wish splashes of red and teal (fave) I had to play along...

I got a little splattery and made an ATC using water colors, polka dot washi tape (k and company), and a magazine cut out

can you really have a "how-to" for creativity???

The Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger for this week is "Man-Tastic!" with a little more manly tone to the red, white, blue theme...

I created another ATC with some fun patterned paper, embossed medalions, bling, magazine cut outs AND the best fortune cookie fortune evvvvaaarrr!

american dream, am i right?
Enjoy your short work week and I'll enjoy snuggling my fur baby birthday boy :)

xoxo

Today was definitely one of those work days where it's impossible to even have a minute to myself to remember to breathe! But it keeps me on my toes, so that's better than being bored all day.... right??

Since no big holidays are coming up I don't have any 'occasion' cards to make, so I'm still workin on some little ATCs. (hey, wanna trade an ATC? rwkrafts(at)gmail(dot)com)

This is for the Lawnscaping challenge for Clean and Simple

Aren't they so cute together? I used Lawn Fawn "my silly valentine" and "love and breakfast" sets... definitely my favorite ones and they go together so well.
materials: Copics (BG11, BG15, RV19), SmoochSpritz in sea kiss, twine, Recollections ebony ink, foam dots, purple chalk ink.

Anybody have creative, space saving, inexpensive Copic storage tips? Anyone? I'm desperate here.

I do what I want!

My craft desk has become a huge source of stress relief after a long work day. I've been letting myself make whatever the hell I feel like making, without feeling like I need to use certain products or follow a specific theme. It's been a great chance for me to make some ATCs, and I'm also kinda really diggin them (if you would like to trade an ATC (artist trading card) with me, just let me know!)

After a previous Play Date Cafe challenge I was on a purple and gold kick. And after Donna taught me about Gamsol I was on a mineral-oil-color-pencil kick. And you guys know I'm always on a water-color-splatter-all-over-the-place kick.

The first arty thing I ever got obsessed over was collages. My room back home is filled with huge magazine cut-out collages that I made in middle school. It was so nice to tear up pieces from a dumb Macy's perfume catalog and put them in the ATC!

materials: white cardstock, prismacolor pencils (purples/yellows), mineral oil, Distress Ink 'Mustard Seed', K & Company washi tape, Stickles, Liquid Pearls, purple watercolor, assorted bling and flower, Inkadinkado "All Flowers Mini" stamps.

materials: Distress Ink "mustard seed", purple and yellow watercolor, Inkadinkado "All Flowers Mini" stamps, Imaginisce "princess petals" stamp, purple embossing powder, gold Stickles, Liquid Pearls, Prismacolor pencils, mineral oil, Cutter Bee scissors

I hope you guys have been able to do some personal crafting! You can browse my most recent ATCs here.

Hey Foxy

If y'all follow me instagram (rwkrafts) you saw a photo of my lovely 54 Copic markers that arrived the other day. I have a lot of practice, a lot of youtube videos to watch, and a lot of learning to go before I'm very good at these things. But I have definitely had fun playing with them over the weekend.

Over at CAS-ual Fridays challenge, they are celebrating their first birthday! So the theme this week is, duh, birthday cards

Here's a little attempt at coloring with some of my Copics. I think this card is pretty cute, I'm rather proud of it!

materials: Paper Smooches "Smoocheroos" and "Word Salad" stamps, Recollections black ink, white chalk ink, sky blue chalk ink, cuttlebug emboss folder, and Copics

the copics i used on this card
And to celebrate the oh-em-gee Super Moon last night (that I couldn't see, thanks clouds) I thought I would share my father's favorite YouTube video...

ATCs and NAMI

I am asking all you lovely readers to please donate any little dollar amount to my NAMI walk fundraiser. The National Alliance on Mental Illness is a cause that is quite close to my lil' heart and I would love some support toward my goal of $100! Please email me rwkrafts(at)gmail(dot)com for the direct link to my fundraising page.

And I've been bored of cards lately so I've got some ATCs to share!

I used up some scrap white cardstock and two very very old mushroom stickers. I colored the pages with PrismaColor pencils, blended with mineral oil (thanks Donna!), stamped with Paper Smooches birdies, and threw on some washi tape (target, k and company)

This one uses the rectangle and birdie stamp from Paper Smooches "Hang Ups", PrismaColor pencils, some blue watercolor splatters, and target washi tape.

And don't forget to email me at rwkrafts(at)gmail(dot)com for a direct link to my NAMI donation! Thank you so much!
