How-To Tuesday: Make a Stamp Organizer... For Free!

Happy Tuesday! My favorite day of the week :) Today I'm going to share a very easy, and free, idea for organizing all those clear stamps.

Just look at this lovely organization!
If you've read any comments I leave throughout the bloggy world, it is very obvious how much I hate the storage of my clear stamps. Until last week it meant they were all stacked on top of one another on a shelf. Which was sooooo annoying. I could never find a good solution for my small-space situation, and also because I really don't have that many stamps, but enough that I needed to do something about 'em.

I present to you, the Coke Zero-can-12-pack-box-turned-stamp-holder! Let's get goin...

Step 1:  Find those 12 pack boxes out of your recycling. Depending on how many stamps you have, cut the box through the middle where the little handle spot is.

Step 2:  Use left over cardboard from the box to tape a new edge, so the box is closed on the sides. Also cut off the top part of your box.

Step 3:  Find some pretty paper to wrap up your box like a special present. I had some wrapping paper I bought during those after-Christmas-sales that I really liked

Step 4:  Decide how you want to organize your stamps (theme, object, company) and make labels. I measured the height of my box and created labels that would just hang over the edges. I also organized these clear stamps by company. (Some packaging I had to trim down a tiny bit to fit the width of my box)

Step 5:  Fit your stamps how you want them in your pretty soda box, and you're finished!

EXTRA CREDIT STEP AHEAD

Extra Step:  I also needed to also organize all those pesky little dollar stamps. I found this plastic container at Michael's for $2. Lucky me, it was the perfect size for these single clear beauties. I organized these by object/theme

Remember when I told you I had space restrictions? This single cubby shelf (Expedit from Ikea, love) is home to all of my stamps, so this organizing system had to fit in this 12"x12" hole. maybe I should do something with all those Cricut binders next...?

I've only had this new set-up for one week, and it has already seriously made my stamping more enjoyable. Now I know where everything is and I can grab it in seconds!

Happy Organizing and Happy Tuesday!

  6. Oh great idea.I have just redone my craft room and need something for all my clear stamps. I started putting them in cds and dvd holders. I realized I will soon run out of space. I love the small plastic container for the $ stamps. F?or some reason I always end up with some of those on every trip to Joann's. So tempting while waiting in line. tfs Tami
